Three Things You Need To Know About Fall Photo Shoots

It’s that time of year when you think that maybe you should get your yearly photos taken before the snow falls! I want to share with you three things you need to know about fall photo shoots!

As a photographer in Alberta, the seasons here are all so different and as we all know, the weather can change in the blink of an eye! So what’s the first thing I want to share with you abut your fall photo shoot? I want to share how to dress! I love layers. Add a sweater, take off a coat, put on a your favorite hat and voila, you have more than one outfit change for your fall photo shoot. It’s also good to have those layers because as the sun goes down, it sure gets cold! If you want a few ideas about what to wear and how to dress at your fall photo shoot, check out my ‘What To Wear’ pinterest page HERE.

What’s my next tip? Pick the best time of day! Either near sunrise…which is not so tough to get up and do as the sun rises later in the fall, or near sunset. We’re not always guaranteed a beautiful orange glowing sky but your odds are best at these times of the day. Now are you going to be disappointed if you get photos done 3 hours before the sun sets? No way! It’s great that you’re getting the shots done and you’ll be able to enjoy these photos for years!

Now for the last of the three things you need to know about fall photo shoots, seek out a photographer with the style and personality that you’ll bond with and follow them on all of their social media platforms and sign up for their emails!

Check out my social media platforms and follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest.

You never know when they’ll share a sale with you! Lots of photographers offer mini sessions at certain times of the year. This is usually a discounted photo shoot for a smaller amount of shooting time. It’s actually perfect for families who want photos done yearly and don’t need a full photo session or for those families with kids that just want to get photos over with as soon as possible. It’s hard to believe someone would want to rush something so fun right?!! Well not everyone has a passion for photography!

Speaking of mini sessions, I want to let you know about the fall photo shoots that I’ll be offering at a discounted price AND it’s a fundraiser for the Holy Trinity Catholic School in Olds!

Here are the facts…

Tuesday October 13th, 4-6pm

At the Holy Trinity Catholic School. Find a map HERE.

10 minutes of shooting (you can book more than one time slot if needed)

$150 with a portion going towards the Catholic School

Please let me know what time works best! Oh- and have fun!
